One of my favorite songs is "Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash. I was inspired by the lyrics to make a poster. I wanted it to be gritty and industrial to reflect the raw sound of the music and despair of prison life. I chose a slab serif typeface that would give a nod to Johnny's country/blues roots with a Western style. I created the illustration using Kyle Webster's Xerox brushes and washed them over the piece to give it the final industrial edge it needed.
